Being chosen for The Testing is the highest honor someone can have from the United Commonwealth. If you pass The Testing, you can further your education at university. The Testing is also how the United Commonwealth raises its future leaders. When Cia gets chosen for The Testing, she’s excited for the chance to further her education and prove to her parents that she can make it. But when her father tells her a secret from his experience, she learns The Testing might not be what they’ve made it out to be. Cia’s father’s last piece of advice was: trust no one.
