Shadow and Bone

-Leich Bardugo-

When Alina finds out that she has Grisha powers during an attack crossing the Fold, her whole life changes. Alina, along with another orphan, Mal, grew up together and were drafted into the army together. When she has to leave her best friend behind to go to the palace, she doesn’t know what to do. Apparently she is the kingdom’s first hope for peace in a long time.
Shadow and Bone was a pretty good book. It was different, which was nice. I haven’t read many books with that sort of storyline. I wasn’t so fond of how the friendships turned into romances, as they seem to in all books now. Urg! But otherwise it was a good book.
