-Judith Silverthorne-

Jennie is a 14 year old convict, sailing to Australia on a convict ship. She is scared. Will she ever see her family again? Will she survive this trip, let alone her seven year sentence? The wardens are brutal, the food rations are scarce, and the nights are long with the beg bugs and crowded bunks. Can the women unite to survive the journey?

I thought Convictions was really well written. In the other books I’ve read, there has always been convicts put on convict ships, but that’s the last we hear of them. I really liked how in Convictions , the main character is on a convict ship. There is some mature content, seeing as all the convicts are female and the wardens are male, but it added to the story. Overall, it was well done.
